What sets one piece apart from another

The stoneware is the same; the shape decides the use:

• Bowl. Soup, pasta, salad and breakfast served straight in it — the most used piece in the category.
• Platter. It goes in the oven with the food and to the table without transferring, which saves a dish and keeps the food hot.
• Plate. It closes the set with the colour of the pan, and resists chipping better than fine porcelain.
• Butter dish, gravy boat and sugar bowl. The details that give breakfast and dinner the same reading.
• Enamelled stoneware. A vitrified surface that does not absorb odour or stain with sauce.
• Colour. Choosing one colour and repeating it is the safe route; two from the same family work, three start to fight.
