How to choose

Composition works on a simple, repeatable rule:

Uneven heights. Three pieces of the same height compete; three different heights become a group.
Odd numbers. A group of three usually works better than two or four.
Repeat a material. One material appearing twice on the same piece of furniture ties the composition together.
Empty space. A crowded surface hides everything; the emptiness is what makes each piece show.
