What sets one piece apart from another

Silicone. It takes a piece straight from the oven and does not mark with the heat.
Wood. It insulates well and gives a warm contrast on a set table.
Stoneware. It reaches the table with the colour of the pan and also works as a decorative rest.
Diameter. It has to take the base of your largest pan, or it will not protect the table.
