Almost nobody needs to hold paper down any more, and that is exactly why the paperweight survives: it became the small object of a desk, a shelf or a console, with weight in the hand and a design meant to be seen close up. Our selection has pieces in glass, resin, leather, metal and acrylic, patterned and thematic.

What sets one paperweight apart from another

It is a small piece, so finish and subject do all the work:

  • Glass. It works with the light and gains depth when it carries an internal pattern or a mirrored base.
  • Patterned. Floral, geometric and thematic — the piece becomes a point of colour on the wood of a desk.
  • Resin and acrylic. They allow shapes and detail glass cannot reach, in solid colours.
  • Leather and metal. A more serious reading, for a desk and a home office.
  • Real weight. The piece has to have mass: a light paperweight does not convince in the hand, and that is what you notice first.
  • In groups. Two or three of different sizes on a stack of books form a composition.
