How to choose wall art

A picture depends more than anything on where it will hang:

• Black and white. It crosses any palette and does not compete with the upholstery — the safest route in a room already composed.
• Signed work. Choosing by the artist changes the nature of the purchase: the piece stops being finishing and becomes a decision.
• Single piece or a group. One large work settles a wall alone; three smaller ones need alignment and one family of frame.
• Height. The centre of the work at the eye line of someone standing; above a sofa, with clearance over the back.
• Light. A work with glass reflects — worth seeing where the window light falls before choosing the wall.
• Fixing. It changes with the weight and the type of wall; confirm before drilling.

Need help choosing?

The size of a work is calculated from the wall and the furniture beneath it, not from taste alone — and that is the sum most often got wrong. Message us on WhatsApp and we will check it with you, then follow the order through to delivery.
