Vases and Cachepots

The object that changes job depending on what goes in it

An empty vase is a sculpture; with flowers it is an arrangement; with the nursery pot inside it is a cachepot. This is the largest section of our decor, in glass, ceramic, metal, porcelain, silver plate and crystal — from our own lines and from Riva and St. James.

What sets one vase apart from another

The mouth decides the arrangement and the material decides the rest:

  • Glass. It shows the stems and the water, so the arrangement has to look right all the way down. Frosted and satin finishes hide the stems and solve that.
  • Ceramic and porcelain. A closed body, colour of its own and weight — it works empty, all year, without needing a single flower.
  • Metal, silver and stainless steel. Reflection and formality, for a living room console and a set dining table.
  • Crystal. The entertaining piece: it catches the light and flatters white and green flowers.
  • Narrow mouth. It holds a few stems upright on their own — the single-flower arrangement, which is the hardest one to get wrong.
  • Cachepot. It takes the plastic pot the plant arrived in. Nobody repots anything and the finish is settled.

Need help choosing?

Vase compositions work on uneven heights: three pieces of the same height fight each other, three different heights become a group. It is also worth confirming whether a piece holds water before you fill it. Message us on WhatsApp and we will check it with you, then follow the order through to delivery.
