Then the stemware. Wine, water and sparkling ask for different bowls — and colour here changes the whole table.
Flatware. Bought closed, as a set, counted by the number of places your table seats when full.
Serving pieces. Trays, centrepieces and platters take the pans off the table and settle the service.
The small details. Napkin rings, chargers and place card holders are what separate a set table from a laid one.
Count for a full house. Every piece here is bought per place, so count for the table at its fullest, not for an ordinary day.
