What to consider first

• Line direction. Horizontal lines widen a wall; vertical lines add height.
• Wall size. Above a sofa or sideboard, a piece looks right at about two thirds of the furniture's width.
• Height. Hang the center near eye level; in a group, align by the bottom edge or the center line.
