Núcleo em Equilíbrio by Annike Limborco for Artimage is a geometric relief. Pale painted MDF modules surround an earth-toned central space, framed by a linen-covered MDF mat, a glass front and a wenge laminated wood frame.
The repeated modules create symmetry around the center. Small shadows between the individual elements reveal their depth and keep the geometry distinct within the pale palette. Surrounding the relief, the linen-covered mat introduces a woven texture.
The darker central space draws the eye and balances the composition. Both form and material shape the way the work is perceived, while its appearance shifts with the light throughout the day. Up close, the arrangement of the modules and the weave of the linen become visible; from a distance, the piece reads as a single geometric form.
At 83 cm square, this piece has the scale to hang on its own above a sofa, headboard or sideboard. Its natural tones work with wood, linen, stone and light-colored walls. Side lighting brings out the relief by strengthening the shadows between the modules, making the depth of the composition more apparent.
With a weight of 14 kg and a glass front, the piece requires fixings suited to both its weight and the wall type. To clean, use a dry cloth on the frame and a lightly dampened cloth on the glass only.
